Commercial Plumbing Project Manager - $110K-$130K+/year (Depending on Experience)
A well-established and growing commercial mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Plumbing Project Manager to oversee government-funded plumbing construction projects. This confidential opportunity is ideal for a project manager with a strong background managing public sector and prevailing wage projects, including schools, military facilities, municipal buildings, fire stations, libraries, and other government-owned facilities.
The company has a strong backlog of awarded work and is looking for a leader who can successfully manage multiple commercial plumbing projects from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple commercial plumbing construction projects from award through completion.
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, procurement, subcontractors, and field operations.
- Coordinate with owners, general contractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, and government agencies.
- Review plans, specifications, contracts, requests for information (RFIs), submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal prevailing wage requirements and contract specifications.
- Monitor project costs, labor productivity, forecasting, and overall project profitability.
- Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with field personnel and executive leadership.
- Resolve project challenges proactively while maintaining quality standards and client satisfaction.
- Ensure projects meet all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Support project closeout, punch lists, final documentation, and warranty processes.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager within commercial plumbing construction.
- Required: Experience managing government/public sector commercial plumbing projects.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal prevailing wage requirements.
- Experience managing projects such as:

- K-12 schools and higher education facilities
- Military installations and barracks
- Municipal buildings
- Fire stations
- Libraries
- Other government-owned commercial facilities
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, scheduling, cost control, and change order management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Plumbing trade background or extensive field experience.
- Experience working with public procurement and government contracting requirements.
- OSHA certification or other construction safety training.
- Stable employment history managing commercial plumbing projects.
