York Employment is currently hiring an Estimator Trainee – Aerospace Sheet Metal Parts in the city of Corona.
Schedule -Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Position Summary
The Estimator Trainee will learn to analyze customer blueprints, specifications, proposals, and related documentation to prepare time and cost estimates for manufactured parts. This role supports aerospace, defense, and other precision manufacturing industries.
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while developing technical estimating skills.
Key Responsibilities
You will be trained to:
Analyze engineering drawings, parts lists, and related documentation to determine manufacturing requirements
Review and compile requests for quotes (RFQs)
Consult with outside suppliers as part of the estimating process
Prepare time and cost estimates for planning, scheduling, and bid preparation
Evaluate cost-effectiveness of make-versus-buy decisions
Produce accurate and timely estimates
Stay informed on competitive market conditions and manufacturing processes
Recommend improvements to manufacturing methods and cost efficiency
Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Windows)
Previous experience with estimating or cost analysis software preferred
Excellent attendance and punctuality
Minimum typing speed of 25 WPM
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to quickly learn technical information and adapt to changing priorities
