Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join their team on a contract basis to provide hands-on support with complex employee relations and compliance initiatives. Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual will serve as the organization's primary HR resource, partnering with leadership to navigate sensitive employee matters while ensuring compliance with California employment laws and HR best practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and performance management.
- Conduct employee misconduct investigations and document findings thoroughly and accurately.
- Advise leadership on corrective actions, disciplinary procedures, and employee terminations.
- Manage employee documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
- Provide guidance on California employment law, HR compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Support employee offboarding processes, including high-level terminations and separation documentation.
- Partner with executive leadership to address workplace concerns and recommend effective HR solutions.
- Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information.
- Assist in strengthening HR processes and documentation to support organizational growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including significant employee relations responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of California employment laws and HR compliance.
- Demonstrated experience managing workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, and employee terminations.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Experience supporting executive leadership and maintaining strict confidentiality.
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
