A school-based physical therapy assignment is available for a caring, motivated professional interested in working with a K-12 caseload. This contract, full-time position offers 35 hours per week and provides the chance to work closely with 35 students, collaborating with school teams and supporting student success.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Current California State Physical Therapy license (required)
- Experience working in a school environment preferred, especially with K-12 students
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork with teachers, parents, and support staff
- Organization and attention to detail, enabling you to manage documentation and deadlines related to student IEPs
- Commitment to fostering student growth in both academic and functional settings
Primary responsibilities include:
- Delivering direct physical therapy services tailored to the unique needs of K-12 students
- Consulting with educators, staff, and families to help implement strategies supporting each individual’s educational plan
- Monitoring student progress, adjusting services as needed to facilitate optimal outcomes
- Maintaining and updating Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to ensure compliance and achievement of therapy goals
- Participating in multi-disciplinary meetings and professional development as appropriate
