Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver nursing care for patients in the CVICU/ICU, with emphasis on critical care needs
- Monitor and respond to patients with multi-system failure, ventilation needs, neuro/trauma concerns, respiratory failure, and hemodynamic instability
- Implement care plans, assess patient status, and adjust interventions as needed
- Supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary personnel, including CNAs, within scope of practice
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and ensure patient safety
- Ensure accurate documentation, adherence to policies, and infection control standards
Requirements
- Experience in ICU/CVICU nursing (travel or permanent considered)
- Ability to work nights on a 3x12-hour schedule
- Proven critical care assessment, monitoring, and problem-solving skills
- Capacity to supervise and coordinate with CNA and other ancillary staff
- Strong communication and teamwork in a high-acuity environment
- Commitment to patient safety, evidence-based practice, and compliance with unit protocols
