Position Summary
Conhagen is seeking an Entry-Level Manual Machinist to join our team. This position is designed for individuals who are interested in developing a career in machining and rotating equipment repair. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced machinists to learn machining techniques, equipment operation, precision measurement, and shop safety practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced machinists with machining, fabrication, and repair activities.
- Support the setup and preparation of materials, tools, and equipment for machining operations.
- Learn the safe operation of manual machine shop equipment, including lathes, mills, drill presses, and other equipment as assigned.
- Assist with measuring, inspecting, and documenting parts under the guidance of experienced machinists.
- Learn how to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
- Assist with the repair and refurbishment of components for pumps, turbines, compressors, motors, and other rotating equipment.
- Perform basic shop tasks including material handling, tool organization, and work area maintenance.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Participate in hands-on training and skill development opportunities
- Support machinists, mechanics, supervisors, and other team members to meet production and repair schedules.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in machining or industrial repair.
- Basic math skills and ability to perform measurements.
- Ability to learn technical concepts and follow detailed instructions.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical school coursework in machining, manufacturing, welding, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
- Apprenticeship, military mechanical training, or vocational training experience.
- Prior experience in a machine shop, manufacturing facility, or industrial environment.
- Experience using hand tools, measuring tools, or mechanical equipment.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate machinery and hand tools after training.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and work around industrial equipment.
Work Environment
- Climate-controlled machine shop environment.
