Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $84,000 – $150,000 / year
Job Summary
Dann's Discount Auto Sales is looking for a highly organized Service Manager to run day-to-day shop operations. You'll keep the service department efficient and on schedule, lead and develop a team of technicians and service writers, and ensure every vehicle moves through the shop quickly and correctly. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on structure, accountability, and hands-on automotive know-how.
What You'll Do
- Organize and manage daily shop workflow, technician scheduling, and job dispatching to keep jobs on time and on budget
- Lead, train, and hold accountable a team of service writers and technicians
- Oversee vehicle reconditioning and inspection processes to keep inventory moving efficiently
- Serve as the main point of contact for customers, resolving concerns and maintaining high satisfaction
- Manage warranty claims and vendor/parts relationships
- Train and support staff on BG Products service offerings to drive quality upsell opportunities
- Track shop performance metrics and identify areas for improvement
Must-Haves
- 3+ years of experience managing an automotive service department (independent shop or dealership)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills — able to juggle multiple jobs, staff, and deadlines
- Solid working knowledge of automotive repair, labor operations, and shop logistics
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and hold a team accountable
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with Tekmetric or similar shop management/DMS software
- Background in reconditioning or used-vehicle retail service
- Experience with BG Products or similar service upsell programs
