Compensation & Classification Project Support
- Build and maintain a centralized database and tracker of job descriptions for all university positions.
- Document which positions have current job descriptions, which are missing one, and the most recent update date.
- Develop and finalize a standardized job description template for university‐wide use.
- Review existing job descriptions to identify those older than three years and prioritize them for revision.
- Draft and update job descriptions using the new template in collaboration with hiring managers and department leadership.
- Track progress toward achieving complete, up‐to‐date job descriptions for every university position.
- Ensure consistency in formatting, classification terminology, and FLSA status across all job descriptions.
- Partner with the AVP, Benefits & Compensation, to address classification and compensation questions arising during the review process.
- Maintain organized documentation and provide regular status updates on database completion and outstanding job descriptions.
Administrative Support
- Support departmental projects and initiatives related to compensation administration.
- Assist with process improvements as needed.
- Review position information and ensure accuracy and integrity of position data within the HRIS.
- Maintain records and update position attributes as part of the university’s classification and compensation project.
- Provide administrative support for classification and compensation initiatives, including data collection, reporting, and project tracking.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Education: Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered.

Experience: Minimum of 2+ years in compensation, job analysis, or HR generalist work involving job descriptions.

Experience developing or maintaining job description templates or job description libraries preferred.

Familiarity with FLSA classification, job evaluation concepts, and compensation frameworks preferred.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with HRIS or compensation management systems required.

Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—particularly Excel—with the ability to develop, maintain, and analyze tracking tools, reports, and project documentation.
