Voltu Motor is seeking an experienced Automotive Systems & Production Technician to support the assembly and integration of the Voltu3 electric work truck. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with a strong technical background in vehicle systems, a disciplined approach to procedures, and a commitment to quality workmanship.
The successful candidate will play a critical role on the production line, performing vehicle assembly, integration, diagnostics, testing, and quality verification. This position requires extensive knowledge of suspension, axles, steering, braking, cooling, electrical, and wire harness systems, along with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and vehicle diagnostics.
We are looking for a procedure-oriented professional with a proven track record of working within 5S and Lean Manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, follows documented procedures without compromise, maintains high standards of safety and quality, and understands the importance of consistency in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and integrate vehicle systems on the production line according to engineering specifications, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and validate suspension, steering, braking, and cooling systems.
- Route, terminate, secure, and verify wire harnesses and electrical components.
- Perform mechanical and electrical diagnostics using industry-standard tools and procedures.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, assembly instructions, electrical schematics, and engineering documentation.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and quality verification throughout the assembly process.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve vehicle system issues while maintaining production efficiency and quality standards.
- Accurately document completed work, defects, corrective actions, and test results.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in accordance with 5S principles and company safety requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive assembly, manufacturing, vehicle integration, or advanced automotive service.
- Strong hands-on experience with suspension, steering, braking, cooling, and electrical systems.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience reading technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and service documentation.
- Familiarity with 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and standardized work procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, accountability, and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced production team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with medium-duty or heavy-duty vehicles.
- Experience in low-volume vehicle manufacturing, prototype builds, or specialty vehicle assembly.
- Electrical vehicle experience is a plus.
- Quality inspection and testing experience.
