Job description:
Start date: This role runs from July 15th through December 15th, 2026, and serves as a five‑month contract period. The position is designed as a trial phase for a potential full‑time, salaried role starting next year.
About Bliss Pops
Bliss Pops is a mobile popsicle catering company serving Bay Area events. The Manager is the on‑site leader, scheduler, and client liaison who ensures flawless event execution and staff performance, as well as quality-controlled and timely popsicle production.
Key responsibilities
- Lead on‑site execution for events and act as the managerial face of Bliss Pops.
- Create and confirm Pop Butler schedules; manage last‑minute changes and fill gaps.
- Maintain cart/equipment organization at the Belmont kitchen; prepare cart orders.
- Remotely by phone and app support Pop Butlers who will be executing events; run payroll and correct timecards when needed.
- Hire, train, supervise, and discipline staff; run trainee shifts and shadowing.
- Weekly Filoli delivery in a Bliss vehicle; a valid driver’s license is required.
- Maintain and organize popsicle inventory. Manage ingredients delivery for the pop production team.
- Utilizing both public and proprietary technology to accomplish these goals; Comfort with learning and using tech is a must.
- Coordinate with Mike on operations as needed.
Qualifications required
- 2+ years of experience in catering, event operations, hospitality management, or similar.
- Proven experience scheduling and supervising hourly staff.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and basic inventory skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift 25–40 lbs and stand for event durations.
- Comfortable using cell phone communication and apps.
- Comfortable using spreadsheets
- Comfortable with variable hours and last‑minute changes.
Preferred
- ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification or willingness to obtain.
- Experience with sales or outreach during slow seasons.
- Equipped with insight from prior managerial experience that can be utilized for collaboration.
*Season completion bonus $1,000 paid after successful completion of season on Nov. 1st with performance targets met.
