The selected APE Teacher will craft and implement individualized physical education plans, offering specialized instruction tailored to each student's unique needs. Working closely with general educators, families, and related service providers, your contributions will foster an inclusive environment where every student can thrive physically and academically.

Qualifications:

  • Valid California teaching credential with authorization in Adaptive Physical Education, or eligibility to obtain it.
  • Experience supporting students with disabilities in a school or educational environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork and problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, adapt, and deliver physical education programs to students with a wide range of abilities.
  • Assess student needs and develop measurable goals as part of their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Integrate physical activities that promote health, wellbeing, and functional motor skills.
  • Work closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to monitor progress and adjust interventions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, track student progress, and attend relevant meetings as required.
