Qualifications:
- Valid California teaching credential with authorization in Adaptive Physical Education, or eligibility to obtain it.
- Experience supporting students with disabilities in a school or educational environment is strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork and problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
- Design, adapt, and deliver physical education programs to students with a wide range of abilities.
- Assess student needs and develop measurable goals as part of their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Integrate physical activities that promote health, wellbeing, and functional motor skills.
- Work closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to monitor progress and adjust interventions.
- Maintain accurate documentation, track student progress, and attend relevant meetings as required.
