This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative school setting, delivering specialized instruction and resources for students with visual impairments. Empower learners to maximize their independence and academic growth while working alongside multidisciplinary teams dedicated to student success.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Visual Impairment or equivalent credential
  • Prior experience as a Visually Impaired Teacher or in a related instructional setting
  • Strong ability to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies for visually impaired students
  • Experience with assistive technology and Braille instruction
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • A passion for fostering inclusive, accessible learning environments

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans to students with visual impairments, ensuring access to grade-level curriculum
  • Collaborate with other educators, aides, and related service providers to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Provide direct instruction in Braille reading and writing, orientation and mobility, and use of adaptive tools and technologies
  • Advocate for student needs and serve as a resource for faculty and families regarding visual impairment education best practices
  • Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed for optimal outcomes
