Johnson Service Group is looking for a Community Outreach Coordinator for one of our clients in San Jose. This person will support educational programming and community engagement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Present educational programs, lessons, tours, and assemblies in classroom, outdoor, and virtual settings.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain educational materials and program resources.
- Assist with administrative and operational functions within the Office of Civic Engagement.
- Support the development of educational curriculum, newsletters, and outreach materials.
- Collaborate with schools, educators, and community partners to coordinate educational programming.
- Represent the organization professionally while engaging students, educators, and community members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Education, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
- One (1) year of experience in education, community outreach, public relations, or related activities.
- Valid California Driver's License and satisfactory driving record may be required if driving is an essential function of the position.
- Positions in a school setting require successful completion of a TB test and criminal background check prior to employment.
- Experience working with K-12 students is highly preferred.
- Experience collaborating with teachers, school administrators, and other educational professionals is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills, with the ability to engage youth in interactive learning.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
