BASIC JOB PURPOSE: The Project Manager, Policy & Strategic Initiatives, is responsible for driving the organization’s policy governance process and supporting high-priority, cross-functional projects. This role ensures that all departmental policies and procedures are reviewed, updated, and maintained on a regular cadence while holding stakeholders accountable to established timelines.
In addition, this role will support key organizational initiatives including RFPs, contract reviews, and other time-sensitive projects that require coordination across departments. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in influencing without authority.
RESPONSIBILITES/DUTIES:
Policy Governance & Compliance
- Establish and manage a centralized policy review calendar across all departments
- Partner with department leaders to ensure annual (or required) policy reviews are completed timely
- Track progress, follow up on outstanding items, and escalate risks or delays as needed
- Standardize policy templates, formatting, and version control practices
- Maintain a centralized repository of all company policies and procedures
- Ensure policies align with regulatory requirements, client contracts, and company standards
- Prepare reporting dashboards for leadership on policy compliance status
Project Management & Strategic Initiatives
- Lead and support cross-functional projects including RFP responses, contract reviews, and amendments
- Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables; ensure projects are completed on time
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Operations, Finance, Legal, HR, etc.) to gather inputs and drive completion
- Identify risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks; proactively implement solutions
- Facilitate project meetings, track action items, and communicate status updates to leadership
- Support ad hoc executive-level initiatives as assigned
Process Improvement & Accountability
- Identify opportunities to streamline policy management and project workflows
- Implement tools, trackers, and systems to improve efficiency and transparency
- Reinforce accountability across departments through structured follow-ups and reporting
- Develop and document standard operating procedures for recurring processes
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field (preferred)
- 3–5+ years of project management, operations, compliance, or similar experience
- Experience managing cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to influence and hold others accountable without direct authority
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with project management tools preferred
- Experience in healthcare, transportation, or regulated environments (preferred)
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: The typical working condition for this position is on-site, in an indoor office environment with controlled climate, lighting, and noise levels. This position is based at our Diamond Bar office and requires regular, in-person attendance. The job may require extended periods of sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, and/or lifting of at least 25 lbs. The use of a computer or other office equipment(s) is also a requirement. Some travel may be necessary. May require evening and/or weekend work.
