PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading company in the aviation and aerospace industry to find an experienced Systems Engineer who is ready to help shape the next generation of satellite communication systems.

Schedule: Monday-Friday | First Shift (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (6-Month Assignment)
Pay Rate: Starting at $85.22/hour

Take Your Expertise Beyond Earth

As a Systems Engineer, you'll join a highly collaborative Space and Launch Engineering team focused on designing and developing advanced satellite communication systems. Working alongside engineers, program leaders, customers, and suppliers, you'll help drive projects from concept development through testing and implementation.

This role offers the opportunity to solve complex technical challenges, influence cutting-edge space technologies, and contribute to programs that support critical communications around the world.

What You'll Do

As part of this dynamic engineering team, you will:

  • Design and develop next-generation RF and digital satellite communication systems
  • Develop and verify multi-rate, fixed-point digital signal processing architectures
  • Define, allocate, and verify requirements and interfaces for digital communication payloads
  • Develop performance models and communications link budgets
  • Analyze and evaluate signal processing performance through simulations and modeling
  • Perform subsystem trade studies to optimize performance, cost, and schedule
  • Develop and demonstrate communication subsystem prototypes and testbeds
  • Plan and execute unit-level integration activities and performance simulations
  • Support ASIC and FPGA system-level design and verification efforts
  • Participate in hardware procurement activities, technical reviews, and unit sell-off processes
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, integration teams, and senior technical experts throughout the project lifecycle

Required Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in:
    • Engineering
    • Engineering Technology
    • Computer Science
    • Mathematics
    • Physics
    • Chemistry
    • Data Science

Experience

  • 6+ years of experience in signal processing or image processing
  • 10+ years of experience in electronic systems engineering
  • Strong understanding of communication systems and systems engineering principles

Security RequirementThis position requires a security clearance, and candidates are required to be U.S. Citizens. -
Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates may also have:

  • Master's degree with a focus on Signal Processing, Communications, or Algorithm Development
  • Experience developing algorithms for implementation on ASICs or FPGAs
  • Digital Signal Processing (DSP) project, academic, or professional experience
  • Experience using Simulink, Python, C++, or similar modeling and development tools
  • Experience leading or contributing significantly to collaborative engineering projects
  • Knowledge of verification planning and verification methodologies
  • Ability to apply theoretical concepts to complex, real-world engineering challenges
  • 14+ years of relevant industry experience preferred

Education & Experience Combinations

  • Bachelor's degree with 14+ years of related experience, or
  • Master's degree with 12+ years of related experience, or
  • PhD with 9+ years of related experience

Pay Details: $85.22 per hour
