Position Location: Oakland, CA
Reports To: Supervisors and Director of Janitorial Services
Position Location: Oakland Federal Building- Oakland, CA
Workdays/Time: Monday-Friday, 2:30 pm-11 pm, Occasional evening/weekend hours, Special Projects
Hourly Wage: $21.93 per hour plus benefits
Qualifications:
- Must pass a government security clearance upon application as well as subsequent criminal background checks and not be subject to revocation of facility access during the term of employment. Must possess a valid California Driver’s license for the duration of employment.
Duties:
Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
Perform janitorial duties consistent with contract requirements such as utility work, tag jobs, scheduling, quality checking, e-mail monitoring, service requests, coverage needs, training and other duties as assigned by Supervisors or Leadership. Additional tasks can include sweeping, dust/wet mopping, dusting, polishing furniture/floors, removing trash, restocking supplies, cleaning restrooms, scrubbing, operating cleaning equipment, cleaning elevators and tracks. Maintain a safe work environment. Ability to handle “backpack” vacuum cleaners and other mechanical cleaning equipment, such as rotary floor machines and carpet extractors. Ability to maneuver in restricted spaces. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, and to twist, bend, push, pull, and stoop. Ability to stand and walk for long periods. Outside tasks will require use of mop, scrubbing brush, leaf blower, pressure washer, graffiti removal, wiping down benches, trash receptacles, handrails, granite, as well as collecting trash and replacing it with liners. Knowledge of cleaning products, tools, and equipment. Knowledge of computer programs such as NCMMS, Otuvy QM, Home Depot Pro, Waste Management, and other programs is a plus. Time management and multitasking abilities. Organization skills and ability to work with minimal Supervision and the ability to work independently or with a team.
Training:
Comprehensive training is provided to all workers. A valid Real California Driver’s license is required for the duration of employment. This is a federal installation requiring governmental clearance to access and continue working at the jobsite.
Location:
Most work will be performed in Oakland, California. Management may require utility work to be performed at other sites as needed. Must be able to work occasional weekends, evenings, and/or holidays.
