At True Bite Oral Surgery and Implant Center we help patients feel informed, comfortable, and supported throughout their surgical care. We are looking for an experienced dental / oral surgery assistant who is attentive to patients, confident with surgical preparation, and dependable when the schedule gets busy.
You will work closely with our doctors and clinical team during oral surgery and implant procedures. We invest in your development through hands-on training in advanced oral surgery and implant techniques. You’ll receive guidance and feedback to become confident and proficient in your role, with opportunities for higher pay as you master new skills and take on greater responsibilities.
What You’ll Do
- Assist during implant placement, extractions, sinus lifts, and other oral surgical procedures.
- Prepare treatment rooms, surgical trays, instruments, and supplies before each procedure.
- Provide chairside support, including passing instruments, suctioning, and attending to patient comfort.
- Follow aseptic techniques and established protocols for instrument processing, sterilization, and room turnover.
- Obtain dental radiographs, including full-mouth series and CBCT images, and perform intraoral scans within your training and authorization.
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Review post-operative instructions with patients and caregivers, including home care and infection prevention.
- Assist the doctor and clinical team with IV sedation procedures within your training and authorized duties.
- Track surgical supplies, restock treatment rooms, and help manage inventory.
- Follow aseptic techniques and established protocols for instrument processing, sterilization, and room turnover.
- Obtain dental radiographs, including full-mouth series and CBCT images, and perform intraoral scans within your training and authorization.
- Communicate clearly with the team to keep appointments organized and patient care coordinated.
What We’re Looking For
- Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential.
- At least two years of dental assisting experience, including one year in oral surgery.
- Experience handling surgical instruments and following sterilization protocols.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, patient charting, and electronic dental records.
- Strong communication skills and careful attention to detail.
- A calm, reassuring approach with patients who may be anxious about treatment.
- Reliability, professionalism, and the ability to stay organized in a busy surgical practice.
