Position Overview

Eisenhower Imaging Center is seeking a highly organized and professional Patient Access & Billing Support Specialist to join our fast-paced outpatient imaging environment. This role combines patient-facing responsibilities with internal administrative and operational support.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and confident managing patient interactions related to billing, scheduling, and general inquiries while supporting day-to-day office operations. Strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to navigate multiple systems are essential.

Radiology or healthcare experience is preferred but not required.


Key Responsibilities

• Answer high-volume inbound calls with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency

• Serve as a primary contact for patient billing inquiries using third-party billing software

• Assist patients in understanding charges, balances, and financial responsibilities

• Handle patient concerns and complaints with a calm, solution-oriented approach; escalate as needed

• Schedule and reschedule appointments for imaging, wellness, and related services

• Provide backup support to scheduling and front desk teams as needed

• Perform front desk duties including patient check-in, registration, and phone coverage

• Support accounts receivable processes, billing follow-up, and claims coordination

• Perform reporting and follow-up on reimbursement for high-cost radiopharmaceutical claims

• Maintain accurate patient and financial records across systems

• Utilize Excel, QuickBooks (preferred), and internal systems for tracking, reporting, and coordination

• Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems

• Provide administrative support to leadership, including special projects and operational initiatives

• Assist with office coordination tasks such as mail handling and internal communications

• Support physician-related administrative needs as requested

• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve patient, billing, and operational issues

• Adapt quickly and follow direction in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment


Requirements:


Qualifications

• High school diploma required

• Healthcare, radiology, or medical office experience preferred but not required

• Prior experience in billing, accounts receivable, scheduling, or administrative support strongly preferred

• Familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Strong communication skills with a professional phone presence

• Ability to handle sensitive financial conversations with discretion and professionalism

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and multitasking ability

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
