We’re searching for a Lead Service & Maintenance Technician, a hands-on leader who can manage the day’s work with precision, guide a small crew with purpose, and build relationships that feel more like partnerships than transactions.

As Lead, you’ll own the daily rhythm of that operation: scheduling, mentoring, problem-solving, and growing the division’s reach.


You’ll work directly with discerning private clients vineyard owners, winemakers, and estate managers where quality, discretion, and trust are everything.


Your work won’t just maintain buildings; it will sustain relationships and preserve craftsmanship across some of Northern California’s most beautiful properties.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead and develop a two-person Service & Maintenance crew.
  • Work hands-on in the field while ensuring projects are completed to Earthtone’s standards.
  • Plan and assign daily work, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Visit job sites, assess scope, and ensure every repair meets our exacting standards.
  • Manage materials, schedules, and subcontractors with precision.
  • Prepare estimates and proposals for new and recurring work.
  • Strengthen client relationships and identify opportunities for continued service.
  • Maintain accurate job records in our ERP and reporting systems.
  • Uphold and model Earthtone’s commitment to craftsmanship, mindfulness, and sustainability.


What You Bring

  • 7+ years of experience in construction, facilities, or building maintenance, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of residential and light commercial systems, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and finishes.
  • A reputation for calm, capable problem-solving and client trustworthiness.
  • Confidence in estimating, scheduling, and coordinating small-to-mid-size projects.
  • Skill with digital tools (Premier, MS Office, or similar field apps).
  • A valid California driver’s license and insurable record.


Tools & Equipment

You’ll bring your own core tool set, including:

  • Carpenter’s tool belt, tape measure, and chalk line
  • Utility knife, framing hammer, finish hammer, and cat’s paw
  • Flat bar, nail sets, and basic screwdrivers
  • Speed square (7"), bevel square, and combination square
  • Adjustable wrenches, pliers, end cutter, and vise grips
  • Hand saw and hammer tacker
  • Sharp chisels (1/2", 3/4", 1")
  • Levels (torpedo, 24", 48")
  • Extension cords (12-gauge x 50’, 14-gauge x 25’)
  • Drill bits (1/16" to 1-1/2")

Power tools (professional quality):

  • 7-1/4" circular saw
  • Sawzall
  • Fein tool / reciprocating saw (optional / recommended)
  • Random orbit sander
  • 4-1/2" angle grinder
  • Standard router (optional / recommended)
  • Portable compressor (optional / recommended)
  • Framing and finish nail guns (optional / recommended)
  • 1/2" chuck power drill
  • Cordless drill and impact driver set


Additional Skills & Abilities

  • Comfortable with basic math and measurements
  • Works independently and prioritizes tasks effectively
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with clear spoken English
  • Energetic, forward-thinking, and detail-oriented, with high personal standards
  • Sound judgment and common sense on the job

  • Lift and carry up to 75 lbs regularly, and up to 100 lbs with assistance

  • Maintain balance on uneven, elevated, or unstable surfaces
  • See clearly at close and long range, distinguish colors and light levels, and judge distance between objects

  • React quickly to changing conditions on an active job site


Work Environment

While performing this job, you can expect:

  • Generally moderate noise levels, higher near active equipment
