Paraprofessional – Sacramento, CA (2026–2027 School Year)
Location: Various school sites across Sacramento
Program Dates: August 2026 – June 2027 (school year calendar)
Hours: Monday–Friday, approximately 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM (varies by site)
Compensation: $22/Hour
About the Role
We're hiring paraprofessionals to support classrooms across all grade levels — elementary, middle, and high school. You'll work alongside a lead teacher to help students stay on track, reinforce learning, and provide one-on-one or small-group support as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher with classroom instruction and behavior management
- Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce lessons
- Support students with diverse learning needs, including IEP accommodations
- Help prepare materials, set up activities, and keep the classroom organized
- Supervise students during transitions, lunch, and recess
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Associate's degree or 48+ college credits (preferred, and often required for paraeducator certification)
- Experience working with children or teens in a school, camp, or childcare setting
- Comfort supporting students across multiple grade levels (K–12)
- Patience, flexibility, and a proactive attitude
- Bilingual (Spanish, Hmong, or Vietnamese) a plus, especially in Sacramento schools
