Job Description
Job DescriptionAbout CR&A Custom
CR&A Custom is a Los Angeles large-format printing and visual display company. We produce building wraps, tradeshow and retail displays, event graphics, and out-of-home advertising for national brands, and we handle fabrication and installation in house.
Position Summary
We are hiring a warehouse associate to keep material moving through the shop. You will receive and stage the substrates, hardware, and consumables production runs on, pull and kit material against job tickets, and pack, crate, and load finished graphics for freight and for our install crews. Print and display work is deadline-driven and job-specific, so accuracy at the dock matters as much as speed: a missed count or a mislabeled crate becomes a missed install date.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving
- Receive inbound freight; verify quantities, sizes, and condition against packing slips and purchase orders
- Document shortages, overages, and damage at the time of delivery and notify purchasing before the driver leaves
- Enter receipts into the ERP system and label material for storage
- Unload trucks by hand, pallet jack, or forklift
Material handling and staging
- Store substrates, hardware, and consumables in assigned locations; keep sheet goods flat, supported, and undamaged
- Pull and kit material against job tickets and cut lists; stage it where the job will run
- Move work in process between print, cutting, fabrication, and finishing
- Handle full-size sheet goods and rolled media without creasing, scratching, or edge damage
Inventory
- Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory
- Flag low stock on high-turn substrates and consumables before it stops a job
- Keep locations accurate so material can be found without a search
Packing, crating, and shipping
- Pack, wrap, box, and crate finished graphics and display hardware for freight, courier, and install crews
- Build simple crates and protective packaging for oversized and fragile pieces
- Label shipments accurately, generate shipping paperwork, and stage load-outs by job
- Load outbound trucks and verify the load against the pull sheet before it leaves
Housekeeping and safety
- Keep aisles, racks, dock, and staging areas clean, clear, and organized
- Break down and dispose of scrap and packaging waste
- Wear required PPE and follow all shop and equipment safety procedures
- Report damaged racking, equipment issues, and safety hazards immediately
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year of warehouse, shipping and receiving, or material handling experience
- Able to read a tape measure, count accurately, and work from job tickets and pull sheets
- Basic computer literacy for inventory and shipping entry
- Careful handling of large, flat, and easily damaged material
- Reliable attendance and flexibility to work overtime when production requires it
- Able to communicate clearly with production, purchasing, and install crews
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift certification, or willingness to certify on hire
- Experience in a print, signage, display, or fabrication shop
- Experience with an ERP or WMS for receipts, transfers, and counts
- Crating or custom packaging experience for oversized freight
- Familiarity with common carrier and courier shipping systems
- OSHA 10 certification
- Bilingual English/Spanish
Physical Requirements
The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
- Stand and walk on a concrete shop floor for the majority of an 8+ hour shift
- Regularly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs, and team-lift full sheets, rolls, and large crates
- Bend, kneel, crouch, climb a ladder, and reach overhead to access racking
- Operate a pallet jack and, if certified, a forklift
- Work in a warehouse and shop environment with noise, dust, and variable temperatures, wearing required PPE
