About the Company
Degryse Electric is a full-service commercial electrical contractor headquartered in Pleasanton. Its Northern California work includes new construction, tenant improvements, service, retail remodels, restaurants, and design/build projects.
Role Summary
The Commercial Electrical Apprentice will develop field skills while working alongside experienced Degryse electricians on a variety of commercial projects. This role is designed for someone who shows up consistently, wants to learn the trade correctly, and is committed to both field experience and formal electrical education.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Journeymen and Foremen with commercial installations.
- Learn conduit installation, wiring, devices, lighting, and electrical equipment.
- Read basic plans and field layouts under supervision.
- Safely use electrical tools and equipment.
- Maintain clean and organized jobsites.
- Follow NEC, OSHA, and company safety requirements.
- Stage and organize project materials.
- Follow Foreman/Journeyman direction accurately.
- Communicate questions and progress clearly.
- Participate actively in required schooling.
- Build technical knowledge toward Journeyman-level capability.
Required Qualifications
- Genuine interest in building a commercial electrical career.
- Commitment to required electrical schooling.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Willingness to learn and accept coaching.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous commercial construction exposure.
- Existing enrollment in an electrical training program.
- Basic electrical or construction knowledge.
- Prior hands-on trade experience.
Success Metrics
- Meets field and school attendance requirements.
- Demonstrates consistent technical development.
- Performs assigned work safely and accurately.
- Earns increasing responsibility from Journeymen and Foremen.
- Progresses toward Journeyman-level competence and certification.
