Job DescriptionAbout the Role:Metspec Inc is looking for a skilled Structural Welder to join our team in Monterey, CA! Responsibilities:
- Perform structural welding using MIG, TIG, and/or Stick (SMAW) welding processes on steel and metal components
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication
- Fit, align, and assemble metal components prior to welding
- Inspect completed welds for quality, strength, and compliance with specifications
- Operate grinders, torches, and other fabrication tools as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with safety protocols
- Collaborate with fabrication team members to meet production deadlines
Requirements:
- Proven experience in structural welding or metal fabrication 2 years minimum
- Clean driving record
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols
- AWS certification or equivalent welding certification preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality welds
- Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods in a shop environment
- Reliable, self-motivated, and a strong team player
