- Comfortable running basic machine controls—start, stop, cycle hold, emergency stop?
- Steady and accurate with repetitive tasks and simple measurements?
- Able to spot obvious quality issues and speak up quickly?
What you’ll handle every day
- Load/unload die cast parts into CNC machining centers for secondary operations
- Initiate machine cycles and monitor for alarms or abnormalities
- Check parts with go/no-go gauges and simple measuring tools as trained
- Visually inspect for defects, damage, and nonconformities
- Follow job travelers, inspection plans, and work instructions exactly
- Keep your area clean and organized to 5S and safety standards
- Handle components to avoid damage and mix-ups
- Accurately record counts and inspection results
- Share concerns with a Machinist II/III, lead, or supervisor right away
- Join training activities and build your machining skill set
What you won’t be asked to do
- Set up machines or change tooling
- Adjust offsets or edit CNC programs
- Interpret complex blueprints or GD&T
- Troubleshoot machining or process issues independently
Qualifications
- Education: Accredited HSD/GED
- Experience (Level 1): 0–2 years total
- Entry level: 0–1 year; CNC training, trade school, or apprenticeship a plus
- Typical requirement: About 1–2 years of CNC machining experience
- Proficiency: CNC Tooling
