Foothill Dermatology Medical Center is in need of a Medical Biller, Full time position
MUST HAVE ONE YEAR EXPERIENCE
Reponsibilites include and not limited to:
- Review patient accounts and billing information for accuracy before claim submission.
- Prepare and submit electronic and paper medical claims to insurance companies and other third-party payers.
- Verify that claims contain accurate patient demographics, insurance information, provider information, diagnosis codes, procedure codes, modifiers, units, and required documentation.
- Identify and correct billing errors before claims are submitted.
- Ensure claims are submitted within payer and timely-filing requirements.
- Monitor claim status and follow up on outstanding claims.
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), Electronic Remittance Advice (ERAs), and payer correspondence.
- Post insurance payments, adjustments, contractual allowances, and patient responsibility accurately.
- Reconcile payments and identify discrepancies.
- Process secondary and tertiary claims when applicable.
- Maintain accurate documentation of billing activity and claim follow-up.
- Identify the reason for denied, rejected, or underpaid claims.
- Correct billing errors and resubmit claims when appropriate.
- Prepare and submit reconsiderations, appeals, and supporting documentation.
- Follow up with insurance companies regarding unresolved claims.
- Maintain documentation of appeals and payer communications.
- Experience working with EOBs and ERAs.
- Experience with electronic claims clearinghouses.
