Direct Counsel is seeking an ERISA & Executive Compensation Associate Attorney to join a leading global law firm.
Locations: Boston, Massachusetts; New York, New York; Santa Monica, California; Silicon Valley, California; Washington, D.C.
Position Overview
The attorney will join the firm's ERISA and Executive Compensation practice, advising public and private companies on tax and securities law matters involving equity-based arrangements and other incentive compensation plans. The role will involve working collaboratively on transactions while independently managing certain components of matters.
Responsibilities
- Advise public and private companies on executive compensation and employee benefits matters
- Counsel clients regarding tax and securities law issues related to equity-based compensation arrangements
- Advise on incentive compensation plans and related arrangements
- Work collaboratively with transaction teams while independently managing components of transactions
- Assist with ERISA and employee benefit plan matters as applicable
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships
Qualifications
- 4-7 years of experience in ERISA, executive compensation, employee benefits, or a closely related practice
- Experience representing public and private companies regarding tax and securities law issues related to equity-based arrangements and incentive compensation plans
- Experience working effectively as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage components of transactions
- Additional experience with ERISA and employee benefit plans is a plus
- Outstanding academic credentials
- Comparable law firm experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Relevant bar admission preferred
Compensation
$310,000–$420,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
