Surgical Technician

Facility: Adventist Health Sonora – Sonora, CA

Job Summary

Assists the surgical team with operating room preparation and procedures by maintaining the sterile field, preparing instruments and supplies, passing instruments, and supporting surgeons throughout surgical cases.

Essential Functions

• Prepare surgical cases, instruments, supplies, and equipment.

• Set up and maintain a sterile field using proper aseptic technique.

• Pass instruments, supplies, and medications during procedures.

• Complete instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the RN.

• Maintain surgical equipment and inventory.

• Collect case data and perform required clerical duties.

• Clean equipment and maintain a safe, organized operating room.

• Transport patients as needed.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

  Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED — Required

• Associate’s/Technical Degree — Preferred

• Scrub technician and/or operating room experience — Preferred

• Surgery Technician Certification — Preferred

• BLS/CPR certification from an approved vendor — Required

• CNA Certification — Preferred
