Job DescriptionPosition Overview
Our organization is seeking to hire three full-time Academic Generalist Obstetricians/Gynecologists within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Appointments will be made at either the Assistant or Associate Health Sciences Clinical Professor level, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications. Compensation will be determined based on these factors.
Key Responsibilities
The chosen candidates will deliver comprehensive clinical services in general obstetrics and gynecology as part of the University Women's Health (UWH) group, which is the largest division in the department, comprising over 16 faculty members. Responsibilities include:
Clinical Duties
- Conducting outpatient clinic sessions
- Providing daytime hospitalist coverage for obstetric and gynecologic services in collaboration with UWH faculty
- Handling obstetrical in-house night calls and backup home calls as per the Compensation Plan
- Participating in at-home gynecology call on a rotating basis with departmental subspecialties
- Typical call schedule includes either 2 in-house shifts (with home call) or 3 in-house shifts (without home call)
Teaching and Mentorship
- Supervising and instructing medical students and residents in various settings, including clinics, Labor and Delivery, operating rooms, and inpatient wards
- Engaging in curriculum development and educational initiatives is highly encouraged
Academic Service and Research
- Involvement in scholarly projects, quality improvement efforts, and/or research activities
- Active participation in committee work and university service
Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Completion of an accredited residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology (or currently in the final year of such a program)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Eligibility for medical licensure in California
- Experience in general obstetrics and gynecology
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a diverse academic setting
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role is between $300,000 (for one call per month) and $372,000 (for four calls per month). This position includes participation in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.
