Step into a rewarding role supporting students’ growth as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant on a contract basis. This position is designed to cover a maternity leave starting as soon as possible and extending through March—possibly continuing through the end of the school year. With a commitment of just two days per week and flexibility on which days you select, you’ll be able to balance professional responsibilities with your personal schedule.

In this role, you will:

Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing therapy plans within a school setting
Work one-on-one and in small groups with students, helping them develop essential life and learning skills
Collaborate with educators, families, and other related service providers to ensure student progress
Accurately maintain records and document student milestones
Provide creative, supportive interventions to foster student independence

Ideal candidates will bring:

An active, unrestricted license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in California
Previous experience working in educational, pediatric, or relevant settings
The ability to build positive rapport with students, staff, and families
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
Flexibility and adaptability, embracing new challenges as they arise
