An opportunity is available for a Per Diem Pharmacist to support pharmacy operations in a dynamic healthcare setting with 173 licensed beds and an average daily census of 140 patients. This role is ideal for pharmacists seeking flexible scheduling with variable day and afternoon shifts.
Responsibilities include:
- Verifying medication orders accurately and efficiently
- Supervising and providing guidance to pharmacy technicians
- Collaborating with nursing staff and physicians to optimize patient care
- Applying pharmacokinetic principles for individualized patient therapy
- Utilizing Allscripts/Paragon for order entry and managing Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Valid pharmacist license with current credentials
- Experience in hospital pharmacy settings preferred
- Proficiency in order verification and medication dispensing procedures
- Familiarity with Allscripts/Paragon systems and Pyxis cabinets
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to consult effectively with clinical staff
