About the Role

\n
We are looking for an additional full time associate attorney to support our litigation practice and competently manage a personal injury caseload. Ideally, candidates will have personal injury litigation experience with deep knowledge of California state and federal rules of civil procedure.
\n
\n
We place a large emphasis on the quality of life of the members of our firm and do not have billable hour requirements. To support a healthier work/life balance, we are a hybrid firm, located in Walnut Creek, but we are open to working with a remote associate attorney anywhere in California. Ideally, you would be open to coming to the office on mutually agreed upon days during onboarding (and periodically after you've onboarded) while demonstrating an ability to effectively work from home for the rest of your tenure. Our top priority with this hire is to find someone who can work independently and communicate efficiently as we feel that’s the secret to success in a remote work environment. Responsibilities
\n
- \n
- Working up cases from intake to trial, including:
- Reviewing and analyzing medical treatment records to assess the nature and extent of injuries
- Conducting detailed research regarding causation and damages in personal injury cases
- Drafting claims, motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, subpoenas, memorandums, and other legal documents
- Performing in depth legal research
- Preparing for depositions, conducting and defending depositions
- Supporting partners as they prepare cases for trial

Qualifications

- Essential Qualifications:
- 4+ years experience in the area of civil litigation, preference for experience in personal injury litigation
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Extensive experience managing the discovery process
- Capable of working independently and proactively
- Ability to coordinate and collaborate with our partners, existing associates, paralegals, legal secretaries, and front desk administrator to support clients

Pay range and compensation package
\n
- \n
- $150,000 to $190,000 per year - base salary
- Performance bonus with amount based on impact within the firm
- Where you fall within this range is dependent on relevant experience, seniority, geographic location, and demonstrated role ability during the interview process.
- Hours: Full time, 40 hrs./week (no billable hour requirements)

Job Location: We are open to candidates outside of the East Bay who desire a remote schedule. If you live near our office, we would want you to have monthly in-office days at our office in Walnut Creek, CA.

Start Date: We are flexible with the start date. We are willing to wait for the right person and are less concerned with getting someone in ASAP. We can discuss what works best for you.
