Elite Fuels Transportation is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team in Riverside, California.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with 1–3 years of hands-on accounting experience who is ready to take on greater responsibility within a growing, multi-entity organization.

You will work with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, month-end close, AP/AR, fixed assets, operational expenses, and financial reporting while supporting multiple business entities and locations.

Candidates with accounting experience in trucking, transportation, logistics, fuel distribution, petroleum, fleet operations, or another operations-intensive industry are strongly encouraged to apply.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger accounts.
Perform bank, credit card, balance sheet, and other monthly account reconciliations.
Record and reconcile intercompany transactions, allocations, and charges across multiple entities.
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including operational and fuel-related invoices.
Assist with payroll-related accounting entries in coordination with Payroll/HR.
Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules for trucks, trailers, equipment, and other company assets.
Track and reconcile operational costs including fuel purchases, fleet maintenance expenses, and terminal-level allocations.
Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
Support accounting activities across operations in Southern California, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and El Paso.
Assist with internal/external audits and tax preparation.
Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP and company internal controls.

What We're Looking For

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
1–3 years of professional accounting experience.
Experience preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
Proficiency with QuickBooks Enterprise.
Strong to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Working knowledge of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Experience That Will Make You Stand Out

We are especially interested in candidates who bring one or more of the following:

Accounting experience within fuel transportation, trucking, logistics, petroleum distribution, fleet operations, or a related industry.
Multi-entity accounting experience.
Experience with intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and allocations.
Experience accounting for operational costs such as fuel, fleet maintenance, terminals, transportation expenses, or equipment.
Experience supporting accounting functions across multiple companies, branches, or operating locations.

Schedule

Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–6:00 PM

This is a full-time, on-site position in Riverside, CA.

Overtime may be required based on month-end close, deadlines, and other business needs.
