Job Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift & Schedule: Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM | 5 Days/Week | 40 Hours/Week | Call & Floating Required | Weekends as Needed
Local Candidates Required: Yes
Traveler Candidates Required: Yes

Pay Rate
Local: $40 – $42/hour
Traveler: $40 – $44/hour

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced OR Tech/Surgical Tech to support surgical procedures, maintain sterile technique, and assist the operating room team.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience; 5 years preferred.

  • First-time travelers are not accepted.

  • California license preferred; pending license accepted.

  • Availability for required call, floating, and weekends as needed.

  • RTO limited to no more than 7 days.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating room by arranging surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.

  • Set up and maintain the sterile field according to surgical protocols.

  • Assist surgeons and the surgical team during procedures.

  • Pass instruments, sponges, sutures, and other supplies as needed.

  • Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts with the circulating nurse.

  • Maintain aseptic technique and follow infection prevention standards.

  • Handle surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies safely.

  • Assist with patient positioning and preparation while maintaining safety and privacy.

  • Anticipate surgical team needs and ensure required supplies are available.

  • Monitor the sterile field and report contamination or breaks in technique.

  • Handle surgical specimens according to established procedures.

  • Assist with room turnover and prepare the operating room for subsequent cases.

  • Follow equipment safety, documentation, and surgical procedures.

  • Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia personnel, and other operating room staff.
