Clinical Services Coordinator
Pay: $31/hour
Location: San Diego, CA 92121 – Onsite
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:30 PM
Duration: 3 months with potential for extension and/or conversion
Start Date: Targeting October 5, 2026
About the Role
We are hiring a Clinical Services Coordinator to join a clinical laboratory team and help support an existing workload and backlog. This role will focus on reviewing clinical documentation and ensuring information is accurate and complete to support the testing process.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field who is highly detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working with medical or clinical information.
Responsibilities
- Review pathology reports, chart notes, imaging reports, and other clinical documentation
- Analyze clinical information to confirm accuracy and eligibility for testing
- Identify discrepancies and communicate issues clearly with internal teams
- Review and prioritize Rush and Follow-Up orders
- Determine the appropriate specimen for testing
- Communicate with Client Services when tissue specimens need to be requested
- Identify orders that cannot be clinically validated and require cancellation
- Escalate questions or issues to the Clinical Pathology Supervisor or Pathologist
- Enter and maintain accurate clinical data
- Work closely with Client Services, Pathologists, and Sample Management
- Help improve efficiency and reduce the team's existing backlog
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a Science discipline is required
- 1+ year of laboratory experience preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong data entry skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work with complex medical and clinical information
- Familiarity with medical terminology preferred
- Experience reviewing pathology reports, medical records, chart notes, or other clinical documentation is a plus
Important: Candidates without a science-related Bachelor's degree will not be considered.

- No overtime, weekend work, or travel expected
- Earlier shift options may be available after training
- Standard training schedule is approximately 8:00 AM–5:30 PM
- Initial assignment is expected to be at least 3 months, with potential for extension and/or conversion
