Role Description The Junior Interior Designer role at ECS is a part-time, project-based position that includes both in-person work in Marin County and remote collaboration. This is a part time role, based on project needs and workload, with regular on-site responsibilities in Marin County. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with space planning, drafting design concepts, preparing construction and design documentation, and supporting FF&E selection and sourcing. The Junior Interior Designer will help develop mood boards, presentations, and material palettes, coordinate with vendors, and maintain project files and schedules. The role also involves collaborating with senior designers, attending site visits, and communicating with project stakeholders to ensure design intent is executed accurately.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess skills in Interior Design and Space Planning, with the ability to translate concepts into functional layouts.
  • \n

  • Candidates should possess skills in Architecture and Construction Drawings, including familiarity with design documentation and basic building standards.
  • \n

  • Candidates should possess skills in FF&E, including selecting finishes, furnishings, fixtures, and coordinating specifications.
  • \n

  • Proficiency with industry-standard design software (such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar) and presentation tools (Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent) is beneficial.
  • \n

  • Strong visual communication, organization, and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • \n

  • Ability to work both on-site in Sausalito, CA and remotely, collaborating effectively with a small design team.
  • \n

  • Relevant education in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
