Job Summary
Access Electrical & Lighting is seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our commercial electrical and lighting team.
We are looking for someone who can work independently in the field, confidently troubleshoot electrical issues, complete commercial service work, and take ownership of jobs from diagnosis through completion.
Access Electrical & Lighting has served commercial properties throughout Southern California for over 25 years. Our work ranges from electrical troubleshooting and service calls to commercial lighting, LED retrofits, emergency lighting, panel work, tenant improvements, and high-reach lighting projects. This position is a great fit for an experienced electrician who enjoys service and troubleshooting work and a variety of projects, rather than doing the exact same installation every day.
Pay: $40–$55 per hour, depending on experience and skill level
Responsibilities
- Perform commercial electrical service, troubleshooting, repairs, and installations
- Diagnose electrical and lighting issues and determine appropriate repairs
- Install, repair, and retrofit commercial lighting and LED systems
- Service emergency lighting, battery backup systems, and exit signs
- Install and troubleshoot circuits, panels, breakers, switches, receptacles, and electrical equipment
- Bend and install conduit and pull wire
- Perform tenant improvement and commercial electrical work
- Complete service calls independently and communicate findings clearly
- Direct and work alongside electrical apprentices when assigned
- Communicate professionally with property managers, facility managers, customers, and office staff
- Document job findings, completed work, and additional work needed
- Work from ladders, lifts, and boom trucks when required
- Follow NEC requirements, applicable codes, and company safety procedures
Requirements
- Experienced commercial Journeyman Electrician
- Strong commercial electrical troubleshooting and service experience
- Ability to independently diagnose and repair electrical problems
- Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, materials, and installation methods
- Proficient in conduit bending, wire pulling, circuits, panels, and electrical equipment
- Commercial lighting experience
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, diagrams, and specifications as needed
- Ability to lead and provide direction to apprentices
- Valid driver's license and clean/reliable driving history
- Professional appearance and communication skills
- Dependable and able to work independently
- Ability to safely work on ladders and in high-reach environments
