About the Role
The Collections Specialist will manage a portfolio of business accounts, monitor outstanding receivables, and drive timely payment resolution in a B2B environment. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives on managing high invoice volumes while maintaining strong client relationships and a solutions-focused approach.
Responsibilities
- Monitor assigned accounts daily to proactively identify outstanding receivables
- Research historical account data to resolve billing discrepancies, disputes, and overdue balances
- Contact business clients regarding overdue payments and negotiate payment plans as needed
- Manage high-volume invoice processing and ensure accurate application of payments
- Partner with internal teams to quickly and accurately resolve billing issues
- Maintain detailed, accurate records of account status, collection activity, and client communications
- Prepare and present regular reports on collections progress, aging, and risk areas
- Deliver professional, solutions-oriented service to support long-term B2B client relationships
Qualifications
- Proven experience in collections, accounts receivable, or credit management, ideally in a B2B environment
- Comfortable managing a high volume of invoices and familiar with commercial billing cycles
- Skilled in a range of collection strategies with strong negotiation ability
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with AR/collections databases a plus
- Track record of meeting targets and performance metrics in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong written and verbal communication with excellent interpersonal skills
- Analytical thinker with sound judgment and problem-solving ability
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, not required
