About The Food Pavilion
The Food Pavilion is a community food hub at India Basin Waterfront Park, a rotating launchpad for San Francisco's culinary talent, and a gathering place where our neighborhood comes together through food. We're looking for a Cafe Attendant to help us run smooth, welcoming service and support the local chefs who pop up here.
What You'll Do
- Provide friendly, attentive customer service to guests and visitors
- Run cafe service during opening hours, including basic food and beverage prep
- Support chefs during weekend pop-ups, including setup, service assistance, and general kitchen support
- Operate the point-of-sale system (Square) and keep sales records accurate
- Handle daily kitchen upkeep: cleaning, opening/closing checklists, and equipment inventory tracking
What We're Looking For
- Weekend availability required
- Short order cooking and food prep experience, or willingness to learn; we'll train the right candidate
- Food service experience preferred but not required
- Current food handler certification (ServSafe) a plus, or willingness to complete one; paid training provided
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable with basic point-of-sale technology
- Friendly and community-minded; you'll be interacting with a rotating cast of local chefs and neighborhood regulars
- No formal food/hospitality background required, but a genuine interest in food and community is a big plus
- Individuals with future aspirations of becoming a food entrepreneur are strongly encouraged to apply
Compensation & What You'll Get
- $22–$25/hour
- 15 to 20 hours/week
- Paid 3-week onboarding and training program
- A front-row seat to a rotating lineup of local chefs and a hands-on role in a growing community food program
