Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This long-term, open-ended contract opportunity invites experienced pharmacists to support pharmacy operations at a major county correctional health facility. You will primarily work at the Twin Towers Jail Pharmacy in Downtown Los Angeles, integral to a 24/7 jail pharmacy service, ensuring timely and accurate medication dispensing in a secure environment.

Location: Downtown Los Angeles (Twin Towers Jail Pharmacy)
Schedule:

  • Evening shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
  • Overnight shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
  • Shifts are 7.5 hours each; 37.5 hours per week

Responsibilities:

  • Safely dispense prescription medications according to established protocols
  • Manage pharmacy inventory to maintain adequate supplies
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff in the correctional environment
  • Comply with security procedures, including completing required clearance documentation
  • Pass competency testing specific to the department’s guidelines

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current California pharmacist license required
  • Minimum of 2 years of retail or outpatient pharmacy experience preferred
  • Ability to work evenings or overnight shifts as assigned
  • Commitment to completing security clearance and competency testing process
  • Local candidates who can attend the interview and onboarding process on specified dates

Hiring Process Highlights:

  • Complete security clearance paperwork and provide necessary documentation in advance
  • Successfully pass a competency test and employee health clearance including fingerprinting (Livescan)
