This is an in-office position for hire at Inspired Flights HQ in San Luis Obispo, CA.
Job Description
Inspired Flight is seeking a talented and experienced Electrical Electrical to join our Engineering team. An Electrical Engineer is a specialized role responsible for the design of complex embedded systems within the drone architecture.
This position is at the core of the engineering department at Inspired Flight and will be part of a rapidly growing company in the growing UAV industry. Lots of upward mobility available for this role!
Typical responsibilities:
- Design of electrical schematics and interconnects
- Design of electrical cable harnesses, circuit boards, and firmware
- Tuning of aircraft parameters to improve flight performance
- Performing test flights aircraft to validate designs
- Implement design best practices such as design for manufacturability and testability
Youll excel in this role if you have:
- Tuning of flight control algorithms including PIDs and sensor filters
- Strong understanding of circuit design and PCB layouts utilizing tools such as Altium
- Familiarity with drone flight control systems (PX4 or Ardupilot) and / or robotic autonomy technologies
- Familiarity with 3D printers, Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, and other development tools and equipment.
- Experience with with hardware and software product design cycles
- UAV Pilot experience and/or a FAA Part 107 License
- Great communication skills and can work in cross functional teams and you are self motivated and willing to own a project from start to finish.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 1-5 Years experience in a related field
- Experience preferably in the following industries: UAS, aviation, aerospace, defense sector
