Job Summary

We are currently hiring a Pathologist to join out team in San Luis Obispo, CA

Assignment Type: Contract
Contract Dates: April 20, 2026 – July 19, 2026
Shift: Day Shift | 5x8s (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM) | Rotating days
Specialty: Acute Care Speech Pathology (Adults + MBS required)

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive speech and swallowing evaluations

• Conduct Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) (required skill)

• Treat adult acute patients (pediatric MBS experience is a big plus!)

• Work with complex cases including trach and ICU patients

• Supervise support staff and contribute to patient outcome tracking

• Provide services across multiple units including ICU, Med Surg, NICU, Peds, and more

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology

• Active California SLP License

• 2+ years acute care experience (1 year considered with acute internship)

• BLS/CPR Certification

• ASHA CCC (preferred)

Schedule Details

• No call required

• Weekend rotation: ~every 3rd weekend

• Flexible scheduling options may be available (e.g., Sun–Thurs or Tues–Sat)

• Occasional adjusted hours for rounds (as early as 7:45 AM start)
