Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM day shifts, every other weekend, first to float
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $40- $44.80 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare histologic and cytologic materials that help pathologists deliver life-changing diagnoses
- Perform routine and special stains with precision and care
- Catalog, store and properly dispose of tissues, blocks and slides to keep the lab organized and compliant
- Maintain accurate records including temperature charts and workload statistics
- Handle instrument maintenance and troubleshoot problems before they slow the team down
- Partner with pathologists to establish and document new procedures for special techniques
- Support supervisors in rolling out new procedures and workflows
- Assist with in-service training and document quality assurance activities
Qualifications
- Certified Histotechnician (HT) through ASCP is required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- At least 1 year of histology experience
- Comfortable working day shifts with an every other weekend rotation
- Ready to float first when the team needs you
- A team player with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for quality
Education
- Charting System: Cerner
- Unit Notes: Manager will interview
Knowledge & Skills
- Histology and cytology preparation techniques
- Routine and special staining methods
- Specimen cataloging, storage and disposal best practices
- Quality assurance and documentation standards
- Record keeping and workload statistics tracking
- Cerner charting system experience
- Equipment maintenance and problem solving
- Clear communication with pathologists, supervisors and peers
