Histology Technician / Histotechnologist

Location: Santa Rosa, CA 95405
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night | 5×8 Hours
Hours: 4:00 PM–12:30 AM
Schedule: Sunday–Thursday
Local Candidates: Accepted
Traveler Candidates: Accepted

Pay Rate: $52–$57/hr

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of Histology experience

• Grossing experience – Required

• Acute care hospital experience required

• ASCP HT/HTL certification preferred

• California license preferred; pending license accepted

• First-time travelers accepted only with 10+ years of strong experience

• Maximum 7 days of RTO allowed

Responsibilities:

• Perform histology procedures and specimen processing

• Perform grossing of tissue specimens

• Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination

• Process, embed, cut, and stain tissue specimens

• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment

• Follow laboratory quality-control and safety standards

• Maintain accurate specimen identification and documentation

• Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory staff

• Follow applicable hospital and regulatory requirements

• Perform other histology-related duties as assigned
