We are looking for an accomplished family law attorney to join a boutique law firm in San Francisco, California. The position offers broad involvement in litigation, client counseling, and high profile client matters. Open to considering candidates that have strong civil litigation experience and interest in pivoting to family law litigation. This is a remote-first workplace but candidate must be local to the Bay Area and able to come in-office as needed.
Responsibilities:
• Lead family law matters from initial strategy through resolution, including case assessment, client advising, and courtroom advocacy.
• Prepare, review, and finalize pleadings, motions, declarations, settlement materials, and other legal documents with a high level of accuracy and timeliness.
• Represent clients in hearings, depositions, negotiations, and trial-related proceedings while advancing effective litigation strategies.
• Oversee filing, service, scheduling, and deadline management to keep matters progressing in compliance with court requirements.
• Conduct legal research and apply current case law and procedural developments to support client matters and case strategy.
• Collaborate on probate, trust, estate, and related transactional work as needed, including drafting documents and advising clients on next steps.
• Support the development of the practice by cultivating client relationships, generating new business opportunities, and strengthening a personal book of business.
• Provide guidance to associates and contribute to team management, workflow oversight, and broader firm operations when needed.
• Ideally 5+ years of family law or civil litigation experience
• Demonstrated skills handling motion practice, discovery, and case management.
• Trial and courtroom experience with the ability to advocate effectively in contested matters.
• Interest in advancing into a leadership-oriented role with responsibility for mentoring associates.
• Business development mindset and willingness to build and maintain client relationships.
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple active matters while maintaining accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in judgment.
