Role/Position: Service Manager
Accountable to: Director of Facilities
Whom the role holds responsibility over/is accountable for:
· Maintenance Department
· Equipment Technicians
Responsibilities:
· The Service Manager has wide-ranging responsibilities across two production facilities and several storage facilities (some off-site), including the machine assets located at the facilities.
· Manage preventative maintenance and repairs on machine assets (processing equipment and machinery, sanitation equipment, facility repairs and improvements, etc.)
· Work with Director of Facilities to coordinate with Logistics Manager and Production Managers to determine operational and seasonal needs.
· Procure parts and service through contracted vendors.
· Work with the Safety Manager on pre-op forklift safety checklists as well as any other safety needs that require the assistance of the Service Manager including Inspecting OSHA forklift logs for repairs/service daily.
· Work with the maintenance team to plan repairs and PM’s throughout the facilities.
· Monitor employee's work levels and review work performance
· Coach employees on work-related opportunities and assist employees on improving job-skill deficiencies.
· Provides long-term solutions and day-to-day support to all operating teams with troubleshooting, problem analysis, equipment failures, etc.
· Ensure all processing equipment are in good operating condition and are within the Food Safe Quality operating standards. (i.e., freon and ammonia cooling systems, automated packing equipment-may include working with service provider, etc.)
· Provide support to the farming team with maintenance and electrical needs (may require coordinating an outside service provider).
· Trains employees in proper work methods and safety procedures.
· Any other duties within the scope of maintenance as needed.
Accountabilities:
· The Service Manager will be accountable to The Facilities Director
· Will keep Director of Facilities updated on any major issues
· Will be consulted and eventually oversee preventative maintenance and commissioning processes for new and modified equipment
Competencies:
· Proficient in preventative maintenance processes
· Forklift Certified
· Bilingual in Spanish and English required
· Understanding of process flow and document retention
· Have a good understanding of the process flow of the facilities
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills at all levels
· Ability to thrive and demonstrate accountability in scenarios of high ambiguity and autonomy, while maximizing the contributions and growth of the team
Required Education and Experience:
· High School education or equivalent preferred; additional mechanic training or trade school degree preferred
· 15 plus years of equipment maintenance experience with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role
· Preventive maintenance programs knowledge strongly desired
Physical Demands:
· The ability to walk and/or stand for several minutes and the ability to lift objects weighing less than fifty (50) pounds on occasion. On rare occasions, the role may require lifting and/or moving objects weighing more than fifty (50) pounds.
· Frequently utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard.
· Occasionally required to stand/walk
· Frequently required to stand/walk/sit
· Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds
· Occasionally will be working near moving mechanical parts
· Occasionally exposure to outside weather conditions
· Occasionally exposure to extreme heat or cold (non-weather)
· Occasionally loud noise
· Some travel, especially on the same day commuting around company’s properties, at company’s expense will be required

Pay Range: $79,500.00 – $87,500.00 per year depending on experience.
Location: Bakersfield/Arvin, CA, on-site
FLSA and Employment Status: Exempt, Full-time
