We are partnering with an on-demand autonomous ride-hailing company to hire an engineering-focused Vehicle Technician to support the readiness and reliability of its fleet vehicles. This is a hands-on shop role performing maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and fleet reworks in a fast-moving autonomous vehicle environment.
What you’ll do

Perform vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and inspections

Complete multi-point inspections and quality control checks

Document work and findings in a service platform

Configure and sign off vehicles for safe on-road operation

Coordinate repairs and escalate issues to engineering as needed

Maintain tools, parts inventory, and shop organization

Follow all safety, PPE, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, Cal/OSHA)
What we’re looking for

2–4+ years of automotive technician experience

Strong knowledge of vehicle repair methods, tools, and systems

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Forklift operation experience (Cal/OSHA-compliant certification required)

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods

Reliable, team-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment

Able to pass background check, MVR, and drug screen
Nice to have

Experience in automotive engineering or R&D labs

Knowledge of CAN, wiring diagrams, or soldering

Trade school certificate or Associate degree in automotive repair
-
Experience towing trailers or fleet vehicles
Schedule options
Day: 8:00am–4:30pm
Evening: 2:00pm–10:30pm
(Multiple weekday/weekend combinations available)
Pay: $38/hour
Location: San Francisco, CA (on-site)
Type: Full-time contract (30+ hrs/week)
