Unarmed Security Officer – Full-Time, Part-Time, On-Call & Events
Safety Host Unit (SHU) is hiring professional and dependable Unarmed Security Officers for assignments throughout the Los Angeles area.
We are currently building our team for a variety of schedules and assignments, including:
- Full-Time Positions
- Part-Time Positions
- On-Call / Relief Coverage
- Event Security
- Night & Weekend Assignments
- Residential & Estate Security
- Commercial & Corporate Security
- Hospitality & Concierge-Style Security

Safety Host Unit is a California-licensed private security company providing professional security services throughout Los Angeles and surrounding communities.

We are looking for officers who understand that professional security is not only about maintaining a visible presence—it is also about communication, reliability, good judgment, and representing our clients professionally.
Responsibilities
Depending on the assignment, responsibilities may include:
- Access control and guest verification
- Interior and exterior patrols
- Property and perimeter monitoring
- Event access and crowd management
- Residential and estate security
- Lobby and concierge-style security
- Parking and traffic assistance
- Monitoring entrances, gates, and restricted areas
- Observing and reporting suspicious activity
- Completing accurate daily activity and incident reports
- Communicating professionally with clients, guests, residents, staff, and SHU management
- Responding appropriately to site-specific security concerns
- Following post orders and company procedures
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- Valid California BSIS Guard Card
- Reliable transportation
- Reliable means of communication
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Strong communication skills
- Good judgment and situational awareness
- Ability to write clear security reports
- Ability to stand and patrol for extended periods when required
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to follow post orders and client-specific instructions
Previous security experience is preferred, but qualified candidates with strong professionalism and reliability are encouraged to apply.
Scheduling Opportunities
SHU operates across a variety of assignments, so schedules may vary. We are especially interested in candidates seeking:
Full-Time: Regular scheduled assignments and ongoing security posts.
Part-Time: Consistent shifts for candidates seeking fewer weekly hours.
On-Call / Relief: Flexible officers available to cover open shifts, call-outs, special assignments, and additional client needs.
Events: Security officers available for private events, corporate events, entertainment events, venue security, access control, and crowd management.
Day, evening, overnight, weekday, and weekend opportunities may be available depending on current assignments.
