Job Overview\n
\n
\nThis position is responsible for performing basic electrical tasks under continuous guidance and supervision from higher-level electricians. The Electrician IV supports routine maintenance, assists with installations, and develops fundamental skills needed to progress through the Electrician III, II, and I levels. Work at this level focuses heavily on learning, safety, hands-on training, and developing core competencies in commercial and industrial electrical systems.\n

Responsibilities\n

Essential Job Duties:\n
\n

- Support preventive maintenance tasks including cleaning panels, tightening connections, labeling circuits, and organizing tools and materials.
- Learn and follow required safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout procedures, PPE usage, ladder safety, and hazard identification.
- Carry tools, materials, and equipment to work sites; help stage, load, and clean up job areas.
- Practice proper use of hand tools, testing devices, and trade equipment as instructed.
- Maintain accurate training logs, work order documentation, and skill development records.
- Observe and assist with troubleshooting electrical problems to develop fundamental diagnostic skills.
- Complete required apprenticeship training, classroom coursework, or contractor/NASA-specific safety training.

Job Requirements\n
\n
Mandatory:\n
\n
\n

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Foundational understanding of electrical theory, wiring methods, conduit bending, and basic circuitry.
- Ability to learn and follow NEC, NFPA 70E, and facility electrical requirements.
- Capacity to assist with troubleshooting and identify basic electrical issues.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior electricians and supervisors.
- Willingness and ability to gain progressively more advanced skills through on-the-job training.
