Veterinary Ophthalmology Specialty Referral Clinic seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our team.
Location: Murrieta, CA 92562
We are a busy single veterinarian specialty referral clinic looking to expand our team with place for a motivated, high energy, positive, experienced team player that is proficient in a busy clinical setting, able to stay focused and on task in a fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking to prioritize duties.
Veterinary Assistant Tasks include: performing routine eye tests on patients, exam room preparation; communicating with clients to promote compliance with treatment plans; data entry in medical and exam records, lab sample collection and processing; the ability to work calmly and safely with animals of various species including exotic pets and horses if needed, safe animal restraint; assisting with patient preparation for surgical patients; operating room set up; anesthetic monitoring; surgical instrument care and sterilization; medication refills and prescriptions. In patient care and husbandry. Maintaining hospital hygiene.
Requirements: Complete 3-month probation/ training period prior to receiving benefits and any pay increases.
Salary: Pay commensurate with work skills and experience.
· Lower-level $17.00/hour. Upper-level TBD.
Job Type: Full-time Monday through Friday
Essentials:
- Full-Time Monday through Friday availability.
- English language- medical and business/professional fluency.
- Computer and keyboarding skills.
- Experience with handling and restraining animals.
- Excellent client communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and disease.
- Basic understanding of veterinary anatomy.
- Basic understanding of operating room (OR) and sterility protocols.
- Basic knowledge of veterinary anesthesia monitoring.
- Proficiency in required skills will be assessed.
- Physically able to lift 50 pounds.
- Physically able to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Drug, alcohol, smoking, and vape-free environment.
- Dress code compliant. Uniforms provided.
- OSHA compliant.
- Valid California Driver’s License.
Work Location: In-person, on-site only. No remote or off-site duties available.
