The A-C Electric Company Internship Experience Program offers a diverse, personalized learning journey. You will gain practical skills, develop professionally, and explore various career paths within our organization. Over the course of this 10-week summer program, you will gain practical HR skills, develop professionally, and explore various aspects of human resources within the construction industry.

Desired Majors: Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Communication, Industrial-Organizational Psychology

Key Responsibilities:

\n

Over the course of our 10-week internship experience you will have the opportunity to:

\n

    \n
  • Work directly with an HR mentor to gain hands-on experience in recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee engagement initiatives
  • \n

  • Assist in updating and maintaining employee records in compliance with company policies
  • \n

  • Support planning and coordination of employee events, meetings, and training sessions
  • \n

  • Participate in Book Club assignments to enhance communication and leadership skills
  • \n

  • Contribute to HR strategy discussions with company leaders
  • \n

  • Assist in developing and executing a LEAN project related to HR process improvement, culminating in a formal presentation
  • \n

  • Help implement HR tools, systems, and resources that enhance organizational efficiency
  • \n

  • Provide administrative support for HR projects and programs
  • \n

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

\n

    \n
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) for 10 weeks during Summer 2027
  • \n

  • Enrolled student attending a college or university with an expected graduation on or before August 2028
  • \n

\n

\n

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

\n

    \n
  • We’re looking for students who have shown solid academic performance — at least a 3.0 GPA in upper-division courses for your major, or a 2.75 GPA overall.
  • \n

  • Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills as demonstrated through leadership positions on teams and/or in student or civic organizations.
  • \n

  • Strong technical experiences as demonstrated through technical projects, research, or engineering internships.
  • \n

  • Exceptional communication skills, interest, and enthusiasm related to electrical engineering and/or construction.
  • \n

  • Must be available to work in Bakersfield, CA for the full duration of the internship.
